Top 5 Maps and Navigation Apps in Egypt Q3 2023: Performance Insights

During the third quarter of 2023, the maps and navigation app market in Egypt saw notable activity among its top players. Here's a closer look at the performance of the top 5 apps on a unified platform, based on data from Sensor Tower.

inDrive. Save on city rides maintained a solid presence with weekly downloads ranging from around 82K to 105K. Despite a dip in early August, the app rebounded to end the quarter strong with 96K downloads in the last week of September. Active users fluctuated but generally stayed robust, peaking at approximately 546K in late July before finishing the quarter at 517K.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides showed a consistent performance in weekly downloads, fluctuating between 63K and 85K. The app experienced a peak in late July with 83K downloads. Active users remained relatively stable, averaging around 150K, with a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, closing at 166K.

Uber - Request a ride saw its weekly downloads hover between 52K and 70K, with a noticeable dip in mid-August. Active user numbers were strong throughout the quarter, peaking at 1.2M in late July and again in the last week of September.

Launched recently, Phone Tracker and GPS Location quickly gained traction. Downloads surged from 15K in late July to a peak of 77K in early September. Active users followed a similar trend, rising from 10K to 77K over the same period, though there was a decline towards the end of the quarter, finishing at 38K.
